Malta Caracas
7 oz. bottle 3.84 g sugar / oz. |
Review Been a little while since I've had a malta drink, kind of forgot the smell when I open the bottle. A spoiled grain smell, an intense Cheerios dusty smell, a damp grain elevator. Makes sense, as malt is sprouted grain. But still is kind of a surprise when pouring it into a glass. This malta tastes super sweet. Strong flavors of cherry & caramel, not just the rye bread malt flavor. Almost tastes like a sweet cola, like RC or Cherry Coke. Its got a little sizzle on the tongue, though there isn't much carbonation after the first few frothy sips. Don't let it sit too long: its too sweet to taste good when it warms up a bit. An enjoyable and assertive drink, but I'm getting tired of it by the end of the glass.
